How can donated oocytes be gained?
Our donors are young women who are not treated for sterility and whose wish is to donate their own oocytes. All of them must meet strict criteria for donating gametes according to The American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
The oocyte donors must meet the following criteria

age: from 18 to 35

they must not transfer any genetically conditioned diseases

normal karyotype
-
normal reproductive system
-
good mental and psychical health
-
negative test for sexually transmitted diseases
- AIDS
- Hepatitis B and C
- Chlamydias
- Cytomegalovirus
- Syphilis
Most frequently the oocyte donors are found among students or young mothers on maternity leave.
Procedure of the oocyte donation
The entire process from finding the donor to the oocyte retrieval takes place in an outpatients' department.
1. First it is necessary to meet the following conditions: age from 18-34 years, good health.
2. The consultation with our coordinator and doctor is considered inevitable because of necessary tests. On the basis of these tests it will be decided if you correspond to the assessed criteria.
3. The following step is the controlled ovarian stimulation - through the administration of medicine
4. The oocyte retrieval.
First there are tests which decide if the woman is suitable for the oocyte donation. In the scheduled period the 10-day-administration of medicine follows, which leads to the creation of higher oocyte number. The administration of medicine is usually completed with the oocyte retrieval on day 11. The oocyte retrieval is performed in anaesthesia lasting 10 minutes. Under ultrasound control the oocytes are sucked out. About 2 hours after the performance, the donor can leave.
According to the law the sperm and oocyte donation is anonymus and voluntary.Our clinic therefore does not permit the identification of donors and recipients.
Our clinic does not remunerate the oocyte donors. It compensates, however, travel expenses and discomfort connected with the therapy to donors undergoing ovarian stimulation and the following oocyte retrieval in general anaesthesia. This compensation is permitted by the scientific society.
The financial compensation is paid to the donor on the day of the oocyte retrieval
